Introduction
Below is a selection of web design projects I have either undertaken on my own, or have played a lead role in. Where possible I will link to the work where it is in active use, but web sites change all the time so I may provide links to archived versions, or to the Internet Archive's WayBack machine. Links to these sites will open in new windows - just close the window to return to this site.
Web Design
October 2006
The Centre for International Studies is a well established research centre within the Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Oxford.
This web site was a replacement for a web site with a 3-year old design. The design and photography was my own work, while the content was provided by Centre staff.
The material on this web site is copyright University of Oxford.
September 2006
This is the 4th or 5th iteration of my personal web site Over the years the site has improved visually and reduced in scope to reflect my growing interest in digital photography. The site is principally a photography weblog (photoblog) and is regularly updated with new and archived photographs.
July 2006
This prototype web site was developed for a major new high-profile institute associated with the Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Oxford. The design was led by comments and suggestions from Institute management and based on the results of a branding exercise.
The project was not followed up after a change in Institute leadership.
October 2005
The principle web site for the Department of Politics and International Relations, the second full web site produced in my time at the Department.
The site was the result of feedback from staff and students and introduced several new features not previously available, including web site personalisation tools.
The material on this web site is copyright University of Oxford.
June 2004
In July 2004 the Department of Politics and International Relations moved into new premises at Manor Road, sharing a custom-built building with 5 other units and a library.
This web site was created to provide information to users of the building and includes a room-booking system I designed myself. The system allows the devolved booking of rooms across the building.

April 2001
A web site produced for a module towards the end of my degree, and my first use of database-driven content. The site provides lessons on the various symbols used in weather forecast information and then allows users to test themselves, with the site keeping a record of their scores.
